I have worked for this Engineering Company for two consecutive summers. My role has been to develop databases and spreadsheets to meet specific objectives set by the company management and has involved systems analysis and specification writing before developing the software.

I have also had experience of data entry into two business systems, Sageline50 and OGL Neptune both run company accounts and in addition the OGL software handled sales order processing and stock management.

Sunrise Medical

(1999)
I completed a period of work experience at Sunrise Medical spending the majority of my time working in an office environment. Work experience as an administrator in a busy office environment enabled me to develop not only my computing skills but also the ability to work with others in a team. I also developed my ability to work independently, efficiently meet deadlines and use my own initiative.

Achievements

I gained the position of head boy and senior prefect at senior school.

I was nominated by my peers as a tutor group representative at senior school.

I was also awarded a certificate of achievement in qualifying as a full Dudley Education Compact Graduate.

During my school career I have consistently achieved good grades, gaining numerous academic prizes for outstanding work and effort, and for high level GCSE work.

I received prizes on each of the last four prize giving ceremonies at senior school.

Interests

I have a passion for travel and even though I have been confined to a wheelchair since birth I have still undertaken several expeditions:

•  In 2000 I went touring in Germany with friends.

•  In 2001 I attended a number of conferences in France visiting several theme parks where I was able to see how vital computer technology is used to control virtually all aspects of there business.

•  I have also travelled extensively throughout Europe and America .

Positions of Responsibility

I have been team leader for a number of groups including tutor group representative.

I had to speak in front of a large group at Merit Award evening at the Civic Hall.
